I always enjoy going to The Fresh Market Place no matter whether I'm on vacation or just visiting the South Strand. They have such a variety of options to choose from it's just a wonderful atmosphere.
Earlier in the week I picked up 4 - 1 & 1/4 Lb. packages of ground beef. The gentleman that helped me, I believe his name was Chris, was extremely courteous and efficient. I enjoyed a brief chat with him while he was wrapping up my order. This encounter is exactly why my wife and I shop with the Fresh Market in Pawleys Island. This gentleman needs a serious "pat on the back".

If you're not familiar with Fresh Market, it's not a super market. It's a high end food market. Other than a few odds and ends like flowers, it's food...fresh or prepaired. Sort of old fashioned, with barrels of coffee beans, nuts and candy. An excellent selection of fresh, quality, produce, meat, cheese, bakery and deli products, wine and beer but no toilet paper, detergent or bug spray. Some of the prices are a little higher (not by much) than ordinary supermarkets, but the quality, service and ambiance, with light baroque music playing in the background, make it a pleasure to shop there.
This is my favorite grocery store. They have a large meat selection at the butcher counter. All of their fresh baked products are A1. The prepared food has never disappointed.
I am usually really uncomfortable in all grocery stores however this place is extremely peaceful and there are many amazing products, obviously you'll pay for the quality but I'm happy every time I leave. There was a guy singing in the meat department and it felt like Christmas, made my heart beat!
