It is and old place with a good view of the beach. I was not impressed with the food quality for the price. The chef's menu sounds like a foodies dream but it didn't deliver. I felt like I was in the old country club dining room from the 70s. I don't think I would return.
My family and I stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. The view was great and you just can't get any closer to the ocean anywhere.. The Restaurant & Bar was great. We loved all of the food we ate! A bit pricey, but with the view it's hard to complain. The service was great! Absolutely, no issues at all.
By far the best restaurant in the area. White linen exceptional ocean view. Not cheap but the best quality best food in town!
This place was disgusting. We sat outside and we were bombarded by flies. It was so bad that we picked up our food and moved inside and sat at a table next to a window and there were even flies on the inside of the window next to our table. We ordered an appetizer and no sooner did we get it they brought our main meal and we had to keep fanning our food to keep the flies off of it. UCK!!!! My husband ordered a burger rare and it was cooked medium. I got the Southwestern Steak Salad and the steak was so tough I could hardly chew it. The only thing about our meal that was good was the appetizer which was the Crab cake. Also, the prices are very high - for a burger, salad & the crab cake plus one glass of wine & a soda our bill was $60.00. We have lived in Murrells Inlet for about 1 1/2 years and this was the worst dining experience that we have had since moving to the area. We won't be back.
Here's the negative...
The Lobby, Restaurant and complete Exterior is in serious need of a paint job.
Go here every year. The sommelier Cindy is always perfect in pairing a bottle with the meal. A true gem!
Finally, the owners dog and buddy started walking down the beach at a snails pace and only attempted to go out 30' into the water before returning to shore. A neighbor called 911 and Fire & Rescue came out about 20 minutes later with canoes, but couldn't get to the dog due to the rough waters. Finally, the fire dept sends a jet ski out after that attempt and another 10 minutes passes and the dog is saved. I would say the dog was fighting for its life for roughly one hour. Nobody thought the dog was going to make it. The Sheriffs dept came with 3 deputies and I was hoping the owner was going to get arrested due to neglect on an animal and he got off by making up a story to the cops that wasn't true. I filmed the whole thing and a white woman on staff with short reddish brown hair around 50 years old smacked the phone out of my hand and it went into the water. The Sheriff Deputy I spoke with told me that was assault and she could have been arrested. She was friends with this local. We will never come back. It was a horrible experience for us.
This place also lets some low life locals come up to the bar to drink and swim when they do not have a room. One of those low life's let his dog go into the ocean and it swept it away roughly one mile down the beach. I told the guy twice you need to get your dog and he blew me off with all of his low life friends boozing it up thinking it was funny. One of his friends was an Employee of Austins Ocean One. She was boozing it up with a company shirt on. This group were heavy smokers and left cigarette butts all on the beach like it was their ashtray.
